How Do You Get A Kid Off The Bus On The Sims 2 Double Deluxe? ?

On the game, I have two adult parents, and one child. One day the child went to school, but when it was time for him to come home at 3 pm, the bus came, but he didn't get off until 11 pm. And the next day he went to school again and the same thing happened, only this time it's been two days and he still hasn't gotten off. What do I do? He's already out of energy and fun, and close to going hungry.
No, I didn't delete the mailbox, but I did move it to a sim's inventory. But that probably has the same effect. Thanks, I'll try moving the family to a different lot. =)

Oh really? So that's why. It's weird, I have two teens in the family, and they always came off the bus right away. Same with the child, until that one time.

Well, first of all, try using the Maxmotives cheat. I don't know if that will affect him while he's stuck on the bus or not, but it won't hurt to try.

He sounds glitched. Or possibly the lot is glitched. I would try moving the sim family into the sim bin and then putting them into a new house. I know that's a real pain, especially if you've got their house just perfect.

But if it's only happening to this one sim child then it sounds like either the child is glitched or the lot is glitched and probably it's the lot.

Oh, you didn't delete the mailbox did you? I mean on that lot? That can cause this type of problem.

Oh, yea that probably did have the same effect as deleting it. Well, hopefully moving them to a new lot will "pull" the kid with them and then leave the mailbox where it is.

That's great! You didn't even have to move them out of that house then! Glad that fixed it. Yea, the game actually uses the mailbox as a sort of marker to tell the game where the kid is supposed to get off the bus. Or where the people coming home from work in a carpool car are supposed to get out of their car, so it's needed by the game.

Well, hopefully it won't happen again. If it does, then maybe that's not what was causing it. Although I do know that the game uses it as a type of "portal" and that if you delete the mailbox it can mess up that lot. But if you had it that way for a long time and everything was working fine, then it might be some other glitch with the lot. If it happens again, I would try putting that family into a new lot and just bulldozing that one.
