Star Wars is a science fiction entertainment franchise, labeled by some as belonging to the “space opera” genre. George Lucas, who built a business empire spanning movies, cartoons, video games, toys, clothing, and other merchandise, created it.

The initial Star Wars film was released in May of 1977 by media company 20th Century Fox. It soon became an international phenomenon that instantly brought about two sequels in the next six years. The first installment in a trilogy of prequels was released, with the last one shown in theaters in May of 2005, sixteen years after the first one.

A fictional galaxy from the distant past was the setting for the Star Wars storyline. The characters are mostly from various humanoid alien races. A part of the story centers on robot droids developed for servitude to sentient owners. Space travel is commonplace in the Star Wars mythos, and as such, numerous planets in that galaxy are part of the Galactic Republic (later known as the Galactic Empire).

The Force is one of the most significant aspects in the Star Wars franchise. It is a ubiquitous type of energy harnessed by many gifted individuals, such as the good Jedi and the evil Sith. The Force gives these people various superhuman abilities, with clairvoyance, precognition, mind control, and telekinesis among them. The Force can also strengthen an individual’s innate physical abilities – mastery of these can be fortified by training under a master. Some of the villains in the Star Wars story are also known as Dark Jedi.

You can don the garb of any of the players in the game of Jedi versus Sith. You can defend the galaxy as a force for good, or corrupt it as a sinister element. You can choose from many types of costumes based on dozens of different characters, and get these outfits in sizes ranging from baby to adult. You can also pick out a costume based on your budget, as well as the persona you wish to portray.

Some of the more popular Star Wars Costumes are built around the malevolent Darth Vader. You can select from many types of Darth Vader outfits, and add on to your costume with a Darth Vader voice-changer helmet and an electronic chest piece. You can fight for what’s right with Luke Skywalker’s Tatooine garb. Straddle the median with the Han Solo or Chewbacca outfit, complete with ammunition belts and pistols. For women, the Princess Leia slave outfit with its brassiere and skirt are a must for any party. Portray the wizened and wise Jedi master with a Yoda rubber mask or Obi-Wan Kenobi outfit. You can also play the original Storm Troopers with a full-body armored suit and helmet.

The movie prequels have also given rise to new characters, such as Darth Maul with his facial tattoos and spikes and black outfit, or Queen Amidala and her flamboyant royal dresses. You can also blend into the background as one of many different Clone Troopers, with helmets and body armor similar to those of the Storm Troopers.

For virtually all of these characters, a great accessory would be one of the various types of lightsabers. These are available in different colors, and come with many features and varying sound effects. Another great accessory would be your pet itself, whom you can dress up in many Star Wars costumes, such as the complete Yoda outfit created for puppies and Small Dog breeds.

Where can I find a Traditional Time Lord costume?

I'm not asking about the Doctor's outfits during their travels, but the traditional robes that some Time Lords are seen in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Lord has a picture of Tom Baker in the garb. It's quite pompous and detailed.

Back to the question - is there any place where I could find costumes of this? If not, is there a place where I could go to commission one? Assuming price is not an issue, of course.

Contact a local dressmaker or costumer to make one for you; I don't believe that costume is commercially available anywhere. If you can't locate a costumer, contact your local theater group or university for recommendations.
