For the adults everyone's favorite pirate Jack Sparrow is back again this year ready to chase damsels and wield a sword. With the passing of Michael Jackson this year many people will be posing as the king of pop. Some will dress as Michael on stage while others will dress in costumes representing some of his famous music videos like Thriller and Billie Jean. The adults will also be wearing Sexy Costumes, Star Trek and Watchmen costumes just to name a few other popular choices. 

Harry Potter characters will once again be knocking on doors in large numbers this year. Other favorite costumes for children will be GI Joe, Transformers, Hannah Montana and of course Princess Costumes. Also, many of the young boys will be wearing Mario or Luigi costumes. One of the hottest selling costumes for infants is the Baby Blossom outfit.

How To Make a Star Costume?

Yes, an actual star costume. For my grade 10 drama class, we're doing a play called "Us and Them" My group is interpreting it as Aliens vs. Humans. I'm a star looking over them. Any ideas on how to make the costume?

Hmm. It depends on whether you're a literal star, or something more abstract.
The old big star on a black t shirt can't fail, with black jeans or leggings.
If you were gonna go abstract you could experiment with battery powered fairy lights but it might look a bit amateurish. Or, it might look really cool if you went with an all black or navy blue outfit, then use gold or silver Body Paint on one hand? It could work... The movement of your hand could then signify time passing or something.
I would go with abstract rather than literal, you could end up looking like a 4 year old in a nativity if you're not careful! Jx
